February, the month of affection and romance, brings with itself sheer excitement and much of promises to form . People take days off to spend quality time with their near and dear ones. in the week isn’t only for those already crazy , but is also an opportune time to pop the question to the one that you love and express your longstanding love.

Starting February 7, the week first sees Rose Day, followed by Propose Day, Chocolate Day, Promise Day, Hug Day, Kiss Day and eventually the most-awaited, Valentine’s Day. The season of Cupid and love soaks everyone in its spirit, making people leave of the thanks to make their partners feel special.

Followed by Valentine’s week, on February 15 is Singles Awareness Day (or Singles Appreciation Day). it’s an unofficial holiday celebrated by single people all round the world. It is a complement to Valentine’s Day for people that are single or unmarried.

The origins of this romantic week, however, is quite dark. From February 13 to fifteen , the Romans celebrated the feast of Lupercalia. the lads sacrificed a goat and a dog, then whipped women with the hides of the animals that they had just slain. Young women would actually line up for the lads to hit them. They believed this is able to make them fertile. The celebrations included a matchmaking lottery where men picked names of girls from a box and expressed their love for them during the fete. Sometimes, this is able to also culminate in marriage.

At the top of the 5th century, Pope Gelasius replaced Lupercalia with St. Valentine’s Day. Thus, resulting in the association of Valentine’s Day with romance and therefore the beginning of affection .

Valentine’s day is known as after a priest, Saint Valentine, who was believed to assist Christian couples crazy secretly marry . thanks to this, he was beheaded by Emperor Claudius II who prohibited men from getting married as he thought single men made for dedicated and better soldiers. Saint Valentine was against this ideology and thus , facilitated weddings of individuals who were crazy and wanted to marry.

Fourth day – 10 February, Teddy Day – Teddy is the most adorable and popular soft toy that every girl likes.

Fifth Day – 11 February, Promise Day – Promise Day is celebrated on the fifth day of Valentine’s Week

Sixth day – 12 February, Hug Day – When lovers embrace each other, words are not needed to express love.

Seventh Day – 13th February, Kiss Day – The seventh day of Valentine’s Week is Kiss Day . On this day, lovers kiss each other and strengthen their bond

Eighth day – 14 February, Valentine’s Day – This week ends with Valentine’s Day . This day is celebrated in memory of St. Valentines. This day is celebrated with great love and enthusiasm. Make your partner feel very special on Valentine’s Day. Tell them what they mean in your life.
