“Time Travel 1” Story By Author Devansh Sharma

Once upon a time, it was winter season .  Suddenly somebody knocked my door. It was 1:30 at night so, I became scared but then also I opened the door. I saw an old man standing at my door. It was a winter season so he was shivering because of cold. He was wearing the dress that I had seen in my history books, he requested me to provide him the clothes so that he can protect himself from that cold weather.

I called him in my house and took him in my room and made him sit. I gave him a cup of tea and some food to eat, and when he was busy in having tea & food, I search some clothes for him and provide him the same, so that old man felt very good and went out very happily. Next day,   I went to my friend  Nick’s house where I had a cup of tea with Nick and his father Dr. Andrews who was a great physicist in his time and I saw the photograph of that old man on one wall of his house, I became shocked  and surprised, so I asked him about that photograph , Nick’s father replied ,and told me that it was the photograph of his father i.e. Nick’s  grandfather, I asked him that “ Is he alive ’’ , he had some smile on his face & he replied me “No”. I told them “he is alive”, Andrews became shocked & he told me that his father was lost in year 1914.

Now I felt too sweaty & I didn’t understand how to respond, so I went out of his house after saying Good bye him & his grandfather. I am not getting anything ,so I went back in my car And ran my car towards the police station, I am not in the condition to accept the truth of loss of that old man in year 1914, as I had seen him last night alive in front of my eyes . So, I requested the police officers to open the file of that old man.  As I am the lawyer so they opened the file of that old man although they face very difficulties to open the file of that man, as it was very old file. But when they opened the file I was shocked to see that there was a missing complain registered of that old man of 24 September 1914 & due to failure in not searching him , his case was closed on 30 April 1920. I told them the Incident happened with me, as I had seen that old man in front of me last night alive.

The police officers are not ready to believe on my words , then I went out of the police station , I did not understand what to do ,but  suddenly my mind responds & I got a name of my school friend named Mr. Harry, who was now an Inspector in that area , so I called him and told him the whole situation . He went to my house that evening .He thought about that matter for few minutes and then he asked about that proof, I was thinking about that proof & suddenly I told him about the CCTV Camera which is fitted outside of my house, we both search about the footage of that old man. In that footage that old man seems very clear. He became totally scared as he thought that it was a ghost. He told me to stay away from that man and his belongings. Then not exactly, but I accepted all that Harry said to me. But one day when I was reading the newspaper, a phone rang I attended the phone, it was of police officer Mr. Denim, he called me to the police station .

I went to the police station & that officer shown me the newspaper ,there was the news of an accident written, it was the accident of an old man with the car , and that old man was that of which I had discussed above . Denim shows me some things which had found from his pocket. He shows that he was having one note of 1 Dollar of 1910 i.e. of old time, a slip of stable on which it was written that he got a horse on rent on 22 june,1914 was written and a visiting card of a bar . Denim asked me about that incident which had happened with me. I told him all about the incident happened with me, then I told the situation all about to Nick & Dr. Andrews and called them to the police station & then I called Harry to police station & he requested to Denim to join that case, so he agreed.

They prepared an investigating team, and they stared their investigation, they opened his file, investigate from his son Andrews & grandson Nick.  They did not get anything important from them but Andrews told them that he was lost when he went for some important work on a horse , Andrews did not knew about much about his father as “He told that he was now too old” .

So they search to the visiting card, they copied the address and went there, there was no bar but a hospital was situated in place of bar, they talked to the Director of that hospital named Dr. James Patrick, he told the police that there may be a bar situated here but his father had purchased this land in year 1922. So Harry did not get anything from there, so they again copied the address which was written on the slip of that stable, they reached to the address & then Harry felt sad because in place of a the stable, there was a big hotel, but then also they talked to the Director of that hotel. He told that there was a stable situated here but in year 1982, he had sold all the horses & convert this stable to the hotel.

Then Denim and Harry told him about the matter happened to that old man. He thinks for few minutes and he told them that there was a big and old cupboard at his house in the store room which he had found in the stable when he was shifting the things from stable to the house to convert stable to hotel in which there were all renting of horse were registered since the time of his four fathers. He went to his house along with the police. The police got that cupboard & started searching about that old man, after 2 hours they got that record. It was mentioned that on 22 June, 1914 he had took the horse for two hours but he never returned back so his family paid for the horse.

So , the police team investigate few much about this case & after few days they conclude that  old man was a time traveler, who had reached their by mistake.

Then the case was closed again & the body of that old man was given to Dr. Andrews.
