Nearly 200 workers of Jet Airways gathered outside the Civil Aviation Ministry on Tues complaining  against the delay in revitalizing the airline, that suspended its flight operations last month because of a paucity of funds.
The protesters enclosed pilots, cabin crew, engineers, who command placards appealing, “Hear Our Cry,
Let 9W Fly” (9W is the air line code for Jet Airways).
Police personnel had to barricade the doorway of Rajiv Gandhi Bhawan, wherever the Ministry is located, to forestall the protesters from coming into the premises.
Three workers of the airline were allowed to fulfill a joint secretary level official to gift their demands.
“We had 3 key demands — appointment of associate
interim management committee, getting ready a revival arrange without any more delay also as payment of our salaries, that haven’t been paid for the past five months,” said Ashish Kumar Mohanty, who was among the staff members who met the senior government official.
The airline has seen several highs profile exits recently, together with by the corporate executive and chief financial officer.
