What was her crime? She loved a boy.. Says Shibani Dandekar in support of Rhea Chakraborty

Shibani Dandekar on Wednesday (September 2) took to Instagram and extended support to her friend, Rhea Chakraborty, in reference to the Sushant Singh Rajput death case. Shibani, who knows Rhea since the latter was 16, described her as a ‘vibrant, strong, vivacious’ individual during a long Instgram post. She wrote, “I’ve witnessed such a stark contrast to the present side of her personality over the previous couple of months as her and her family (some of the kindest warmest best people you’ll ever meet) have experienced the foremost unimaginable trauma! we’ve watched the media behave like complete vultures on a witch-hunt, vilifying and torturing an innocent family to verge of collapse (sic)!”

She added, “Her basic human rights removed because the media play judge jury and executioner! we’ve seen the death of journalism and a daunting side of humanity! What was her crime? She loved a boy, taken care of him through his darkest days, put her life on hold to be there for him and when he took his own life she was crucified. What have we become? I’ve seen first hand what this has done to her mother’s health, how it’s effected her father who gave his life to serve this country for 20 years, how quickly her brother has had to get older and the way strong he has had to be (sic).”

Calling Rhea her pillar of strength, Shibani added, “I have such a lot love and respect for you, for the person you’re and for fighting this till the top knowing that you simply have the reality on your side… I’m sorry you had to travel through this.. I’m sorry that we weren’t better

“I’m sorry that numerous people allow you to down, doubted you, weren’t there for you once you needed them the foremost . I’m sorry that the simplest thing you ever did in your life (looking after Sushant) led you to the worst experience of your life.. I’m so sorry .. I’m with you usually . #JusticeforRhea (sic).”

Shibani captioned the post as, “I stand with you and by your side always rhea chakraborty

Several celebrities have reacted to the post. VJ Anusha commented, “I’m crying, my heart hurts to understand what they’re doing to our little rabbit… She is our baby sister forever (sic).”

Vishal Dadlani commented, “You’re a rock, @shibanidandekar. I’m pleased with you, and lucky to count you among my only a few friends. While i do not really know Rhea, it’s heartbreaking to observe her be victimised by evidence-free conjectures within the media with great care they will distract India from the important problems with Covid, China, the entire failure of this government and therefore the collapse of our Economy. Good on you for standing strong

Meanwhile, the Sushant Singh Rajput death case is being probed by the Central Bureau of Investigation, the Narcotics Control Bureau, and therefore the Enforcement Directorate. On July 25, Sushant Singh Rajput’s father, KK Singh, filed an FIR against Rhea at Patna’s Rajiv Nagar police headquarters . Rhea then moved the Supreme Court after which the investigation was handed over to the CBI.

On July 31, the ED registered a concealment case against Rhea and on August 26, the NCB registered a case under Sections 20, 22, 27 and 29 of the NDPS (Narcotic Drugs and Psychotropic Substances) Act. The NCB had also booked Rhea Chakraborty, her brother Showik Chakraborty et al. , against whom the ED had prepared a case. On August 31, a criminal case was registered against Rhea Chakraborty by the NCB.
